"Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try."

This year I decided to follow the trend and set myself 10 #2018goals.

1. Move House

2. Join a social group

3. Volunteer

4. Take less notice of other people's opinions

5. Don't be afraid to say no

6. Book Dubai

7. Explore Vegan food

8. Read more

9. See friends more often

10. Start something new.....

I've wanted to do something for myself since my little girl Lola (Lolly) was born in July 2015 but couldn't for the life of me work out what. I explored several ideas (a childrenswear line, opening some sort of shop, erm...dummy clips) but most meant time away from Lola which I just wasn't ready for (note goal 4).

So, one weekend after Christmas, my partner suggested I start a blog. Something I can do around my family that's flexible but empowering. Largely about the person I spend 99.9% of my time with and all the weird and wonderful things we get up to. The things we love most in the world and the things we don't. Our weekly trials and tribulations. What's in store for us in 2018 and just about being Lola's Mummy.

We are about to purchase a brand new home and start a new life in my home county of Essex so I thought this would be the perfect time to start. For me, this blog is a place where I can share my experiences and findings as a young mum honestly and openly, and hopefully give others a giggle every now and then! It's also somewhere our family can come back to in ten years time and remember the memories we made.

I imagine the first memories of 2018 will be;

The house move - the most stressful time of our life. Ever.

Decorating and furnishing - I will never have enough glass storage jars.

Raiding soft furnishing stores (Dunelm, The Range, Ikea, BM, Zara Home, Matalan.....you get the gist.)

Nurserys, Pre-Schools, SCHOOLS - can she just stay home forever?

New family car - all I know is that I need parking sensors.

Meeting new people - please like me!

Finding new places to visit, namely the dreaded....soft play - enough said.

And in the land of Lolly;

We are potty training - HELP.

The "Terrible Twos" - HELP again.

Lola turns 3 - So.Many.Party.Ideas.

It's nearly time to buy that Spring/Summer wardrobe which excites me. A lot - and yes, this has replaced the excitement I had circa 2014 in updating my own.

On top of all this, I love talking about skincare and make up products (although I am certainly no expert!), fashion, my daily routines, my family's attempt at following a low sugar diet (now with a touch of vegan, note goal 7), and would of course love to hear all your thoughts, advice and suggestions along the way. You can follow us on Instagram and I will also be uploading videos on YouTube when I work out how to do it....

One of Lola's favourite films is Sing. It's a great family film if you haven't already seen it! My favourite quote, which I want to etch into Lola's memory, is "Do Not Let Fear Stop You. Don't let fear stop you from doing the thing you love." So, I thought I should probably start living by example. So, here I am. Doing Goal number 10 - starting something new.
